Corbridge Delight

I spent an enjoyable Sunday morning taking a stroll in the woods in Corbridge.  It was a joy to photograph Joanne, Michael and Sam against such a natural backdrop. I always love the results of a family portrait session and this was no exception. Here’s a small selection of images from the day.

Vintage-inspired fashion portraits

I was pleased to be asked to work on a vintage-inspired fashion shoot, to help young people capture the seaside trends from days gone by.  The young people were recording memories as part of a ‘Day at the Beach’ heritage project.  Clothes and accessories were provided by Dregs of Society. It was a fun afternoon and great to see one of the images featured on the front page of The Journal newspaper.  Here’s a selection of the fashion portraits.

Business Mind, Social Purpose

For a long while now I’ve been eager to take some images on the High Level Bridge in Newcastle.  Not just because it’s such a historic piece of engineering (designed by Robert Stephenson and built in 1849) but also because I knew it would make a great backdrop, with a perfect mix of natural light and form.   When I met with Peter Deans to take his business portrait, I was delighted when he explained the High Level is his favourite bridge and he was happy to have his portrait taken there!

Business Portait

Peter is an independent management consultant, whose strapline is ‘business mind, social purpose’. He was looking for a range of portraits, that characterised his approachable yet professional manner, to use for social media and more formal communications.   It was a relaxed and enjoyable shoot, with some great results.

Newborn Photography: I’ve gone all Zaney!

It was an absolute joy to spend some time with Zane and his mum and dad, he’s so cute (that’s Zane, not his dad!). Newborn photography is a real pleasure and their tony features always make me smile.  It’s great to visit the family in their own home too – the whole experience is so much more natural, and the final images are wonderfully intimate and individual. Hopefully, you’ll agree…

Jenna & Faye

Here’s some of my favourites from time spent last week with Jenna & Faye, dressing up, playing on the beach and rolling in the grass! They reflect my love of relaxed child portraits. We got a lovely set of images and I’ll be putting the finishing touches to them over the next few days, before delivering the prints to a delighted Mum & Dad. What a wonderful job I have!
