Eslington Villa, Gateshead: A Hidden Gem

It was exciting to discover Eslington Villa, such a beautiful spot for wedding photographs. It offers enough grandeur to be worthy of any bride and groom’s special day, yet it also feels relaxed and intimate. I sampled the risotto while I was there too, tasty! All the rooms and the garden created the perfect setting for Jill and Peter’s wedding photographs…a joy to be there. Thank you!

Wedding at The Peppered Pig, East Yorkshire

Food, glorious food, was at the heart of this bride and groom’s wedding celebrations. After a civil ceremony at York Registry Office we travelled to The Peppered Pig in East Cowick near Goole for a culinary delight. The restaurant and surrounding fields lend themselves well to photographs too…I hope to be back there soon!

York Registry Office: Leafy Backdrop

What with York being a renowned wedding destination , Diane and Phil travelled a fair distance to tie the knot at York Registry Office Thankfully the registry office also provides an interesting backdrop for wedding photographs. The garden provides the right mix of shade and interesting features, just what you need for photographs after the ceremony. Diane’s boys were so dapper on the day, Phil looked pretty good too! I had to get an image of Diane’s seamed tights, fabulous. Happy memories for all!

Red & White:Wedding Photography Sunderland

The groom’s love of Sunderland A.F.C decided the colour scheme and his wife-to-be made sure everything looked stunning on the day…a great match I’d say! With the sun shining (yes, it does shine up north sometimes!), we were able to make the most of the grounds. The shade of the trees produced some beautiful images. Congratulations to the happy couple. Looking forward to more wedding photography in Sunderland soon.

Deck the Halls: A relaxed Christmas wedding

It’s always extra special to be part of a wedding at Christmas time. Simon and Sarah’s intimate ceremony and laid-back reception was full of merriment and cheer. This is the type of relaxed wedding photography I enjoy and it was a pleasure to be a part of the day.

A last taste of summer: wedding photography

It maybe Autumn but I couldn’t resist sharing a few images from my last wedding of the summer. Hayley and Carlos escaped from their guests for a stroll along the beach at King Edwards Bay, Tynemouth…resulting in some beautiful wedding photography as a keepsake of their special day.

Hearts Galore: Fun Photo Booth

Everyone really got in the party spirit to celebrate Cheryl and Craig’s nuptials, with the help of their hearts themed photo booth. When I say booth, it’s actually a studio set-up with background, which I alter to suit a couple’s theme. I prefer it to a booth because I’m there taking the photographs, helping people with dressing up, organising groups etc, which always works well. It was a fun evening and the results are fab!

Autumnal Delight – Vicki & Sunil’s Wedding, Newcastle

A wedding awash in autumnal colours once again reminded me why I love photographing the ‘big day’! What’s not to like about being amongst so many happy folk? Vicki and Sunil’s union brought guests together from around the globe as they celebrated in true, traditional style. Their day was a pleasure to photograph. All the very best to the newly weds.

A coastal wedding with a difference

It’s great to work with a bride and groom who are keen to try out a new backdrop for their wedding photographs. Sam and James didn’t want a traditional coastal scene so they loved my idea of trying out the newly restored Tynemouth Station.  I hope they’ve been rewarded with some wonderfully individual images which will look great for many years to come!

Jo & Gav’s Wedding, All Saint’s Church and The Grange Hotel, York

The Jubilee celebrations were the last thing on Jo’s mind as she walked down the aisle to marry the lucky Gav over the bank holiday weekend in June. The sun came and went but the smiles shone all day for the happy couple. They married in the beautiful All Saint’s Church in Huntington followed by an intimate, luxurious reception at The Grange Hotel, York. One of my favourite moments had to be outside the hotel, pressing the lights at the pedestrian crossing to stop the traffic so I could stand in the road to take a group photograph! All the very best to Jo and Gav in their married life together with their son Alfie.
